2012 - 2013

The current season concluded with a very successful concert on Saturday 11th May featuring French Choral Music.

Rehearsals for the new season will commenced on Thursday 12th September in the United Reformed Church at 7.30 pm.

The Christmas Concert, was performed to a near capacity audience on Saturday 8th December at Church Stretton School. The programme comprised Alleluia! Lobet den Herrn (Psalm 150) a two choir work by Schutz, O Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen and Gloria by Rutter, followed in the second half by a selection of Christmas carols and songs. Accompaniment was by Random Brass who also played fanfares at the beginning and end of the concert plus two instrumental numbers.

Rehearsals for the Spring Concert (performed to an almost full house on 11th May) commenced at the URC Church Stretton on Thursday 10th January 2013. This concert, with the overall title Une Soiré Musicale, had a French flavour with Fauré's Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine and Gounod's Mass for St Cecilia. Accompaniment was be by Ensemble Musicale.

Buying Tickets for our Concerts
Tickets cost £10 each and can be obtained from choral society members or from Beaumont Books or John Thomas Florists (both in Church Stretton)
